Biography

Scott has extensive experience and has represented clients in numerous areas of law, including business and corporate, family and child, and organizational and institutional strategic planning, and has been thoroughly involved in the field of sports law. Scott has counseled head coaches in NCAA football, baseball and basketball, the NBA, NFL and MLB, as well as assistant coaches, team administrators and players.

Scott is also a coach, mentor, consultant and pastor with a passion for helping individuals and organizations address issues and assist with change and redevelopment to maximize their potential. As a former CEO, teacher of math and business law, associate pastor, and UF baseball coach, Scott's various leadership and mentoring experiences provide clients with a unique perspective to help individuals, teams, churches, businesses and other organizations sharpen their focus to maximize their bottom-lines and impact.

Scott has authored a devotional entitled Impact for Living-Men's Devotional, published by Tyndale House Publishers. He is currently working on other books, and has provided editing assistance for other authors.

Although a resident of Florida since 1962 (and Gainesville since 1973), Scott was born in New York and spent his childhood primarily throughout the Northeast.

In addition to his professional roles and responsibilities, Scott is first and foremost a husband, father, grandfather, Godfather and friend. Scott and his bride, Lynda, have been married since 1967, and have a son, Nathan; daughter-in-law, Amy; two granddaughters; and a rescue dog, Tulip. Nathan is also an attorney and a principle of Whitaker Partners, LLC, as well as an eight-time New York Times Best Selling Author. Scott enjoys spending time with his family, working with others, reading and writing.
